Light Phone II: turn on ADB
The bootloader stays locked, nothing gets wiped, and LightOS stays on the phone.
Download
Mod LP2 Package
dtingley11's zip. You only need the older aboot.img inside, which still accepts the ADB command. Skip the script.
Steps
-
Power the phone off and unplug it. Hold Volume Down and Power to boot into fastboot. Let go the moment it vibrates, about 2 to 5 seconds in. Past 10 seconds it restarts and you start over.
Landed in a recovery menu? That was Volume Up.
-
The "go light" logo comes up and stays there. That's fastboot. The LP2 shows no fastboot menu or text, so it looks frozen. Plug in the cable and check:
fastboot devicesBlank on Windows? Bind the new device to Android Bootloader Interface (Google USB Driver) or to WinUSB with Zadig.
-
Flash the older bootloader from the package:
fastboot flash aboot aboot.imgThis is the one risky step. A wrong image or a power cut mid-write leaves the phone unable to boot, and fixing it means opening the case. It may also block future updates, though Light hasn't shipped an LP2 update since September 2025. People who've done it report the LP2 takes the flash with the bootloader still locked.
Already flashed it once, or
fastboot oem adb_enable 1already returnsOKAYon your phone? Skip this step. -
Turn on ADB and reboot into LightOS:
fastboot oem adb_enable 1fastboot reboot"unknown command" means the stock bootloader is still on. Do step 3.
-
Once LightOS is up:
adb devicesA serial followed by
devicemeans ADB is on.
After every restart
ADB switches off each time the phone reboots. Run steps 1, 2 and 4 again. You only flash once.
Change the APN Open Android's hidden APN editor over ADB and save a new APN.
